NATIONAL FUNDRAISING CHAMPION!!!

First off huge thanks to Philly B, Naomi, E-Morse, B-Whalen, Craig "The Colonel" Musgrove, Big Burg, Meagen, B-Nice, Rogue, Noel, Carolina, Gary, Nick "Nutty" Weisskopf, Elissa 2X Buchanan, Carmen, KB, Franklin, Ariel, Dave "Money Man" Hills and Suzie P!

A SPECIAL MONSTER THANK YOU TO JUSTIN "JUDGE" HALLORAN! Not only did Justin grow a mustache as a sign of solidarity, he matched the donation pool with 24 hours to go. Incredibly generous donation, without which we could not have won the following:

Drumroll please.

- 3 time SF fund raising champion!
- National fundraising champion out of over 500 growers!
- I personally raised $9,305!
- 4,568 children reached!
- TuneUp beat B of A for the #1 spot!

Wait, it gets better.

- Last minute rally had San Francisco beat NYC by $2,000 to take first place!
- $78,363 total money raised in San Francisco!
- 38,032 students reached!

All mustache fun aside, this is serious serious help you contributed to kids in need and a f*cking incredible way to end the year. You should all feel really proud for making a real difference. These teachers and students are so appreciative. This is real money we raised guys.

So, last night my mustache alter-ego was "G Dollar" - money collecting thug.

I made the finals (3rd year straight) for sweetest stache and blew away the competition for money raised.

Here's a video of the stache-ku. Perfect score.

Here's an article in the SF Gate with a great photo of me and Chappy (aka Crowstache) in a mustache tug of war. Please note: I won the mustache tug o war, but ol' Chappy deservedly won "sweetest stache" by the judges. His performance and unbridled enthusiasm was unbelievable.

TuneUp's mustaches will be on ABC7 tonight at 6.

So there you have it folks. Huge thanks again to all of you for making this happen for the kids in need. I am eternally grateful.

Day 34 - "It's the final stachedown!" - 36 hours to give!

First off, huge thanks to Lisa and Ariel for their very generous donations!

Now watch this!

So here we are, face to face, a couple of silver spoons.

I mean, here we are, in the final 2 days of the mustache-a-thon.

We've laughed, we've cried, 46 of you have given money, and we have raised.... $3,782 and reached 3,270 children in desperate need of school supplies. Amazing.

So, here's the deal: There are at least ten of you that have said you are going to give and haven't yet. Now's your chance. It will take you 2 minutes. I really want to reach $5,000 in the next 36 hours and I think we can do it.

Again, there are children here that show up to school and do not have adequate materials to learn. By not giving, you are effectively denying these children their right to an education. Sucks, huh? In the final days, I am not ashamed to use the ol' Jewish guilt card on you (assuming the video above did not inspire you enough).

Give it up people. Do it for the kids. Do it for the mustache. Do it for love.

BTW- Wednesday, 8:00 is the Mustache Bash at the one and only Rickshaw Stop. If you haven't been, come! Guaranteed super fun, hilarious, jovial and sexy time.

Namastache,

G

Day 33 - "Stache doggy, doggy, dogg"

First off, big thanks to Taya, Chris, Saul, Jon "Mush Mush" Sierotko, Janine, Jess and Marisa!

Good News: We've raised $3,767 and reached 3,260 students in need. Radical!

Bad News: People are gunning for me this year and they want to take the back to back champ down.

I am in second place by a few hundred bucks to a dear frenemy, Wade Crowstache. We cannot let this happen. I just gave $100 myself to show that I am behind this in cash as well as stache.

When I told Miles, he was (reluctantly) helpful.

Me: Hey Miles, I'm getting beat by a few hundred dollars on this mustache thing. Totally bumming me out. I need your help.
Miles: Ferreal?
Me: Yeah man, ferreal.
Miles: Post this shot of me with my dope-ass Dali mustache. Did the trick last year, remember?
Me: Right, great idea.
Miles: That's why they pay me the big bucks. Now please leave me alone.
Me: Thanks Miles. You rule.

Day 28 - "La Isla Mustachita"

First off, big shout to Steve "Bubby" Simon, CB, Meechy Meech, Amanda, Daniel "MC Shy D" Okonkwo, Sepi and Stacey "Karpster"!

Thank you! We are at $3,327 and have reached 3,150 kids! Amazing.

That said, there are still a bunch of yous that said you're totally into giving, just haven't gotten to it. So, as they say in Azerbijan: "Give up the scratch".

At this point, the mustache is really hitting it's stride. That said, it's kind of getting a bit of an attitude cause it thinks it looks so bad ass.

Like, this morning I looked in the mirror and was like "Hey Mustache" and it was all "Go f*ck yourself, dude." and I was all "WTF Mustache?!?" and it was like "Whatever man, you're a dick." and I was all, "What's with the attitude?" and it was all "I'll kill you man".

So I laid off for a while, gonna let things cool down. Ya know?

G

Big shout to Ryan, Stephen, Jessica, Douglas, Kristin, Beans and Deon!

What’s your mustache’s favorite fighting move? Camel clutch.

Any upper-lip tips? Wear it with brazen pride. Stare em down till they look away.

Day 19: And she's buying a Mustache to heh-eh-vehn

Dearest Mustache Supporters-

First off, huge thanks to Ryan, Brett, Kate, Tommy, Elise, Douglas, Stephen B and Francis!

We are at $2,185 and counting and have reached over 1,500 students. Amazing.

I feel like the mustache has worked through it's "tween" years and is sort of at it's awkward adolescent phase. If my mustache was me as an adolescent it would have a mullet, pegged Girbaud jeans and a fake diamond earing. It would eat at Taco Bell five days a week. It would drive it's mom's old station wagon.

Please support it through these trying times.

G

Day 15 - My Mustache's on Broadway

Dearest Mustache Supporters-

First off, huge thanks to Tommy Rosen for his very generous donation! I'm at $1,918 and am looking to break $2,000 by the end of the day. Bring it!

Also, I bought English Leather Mustache Wax for everyone in the office. You can check out the product review here.

Seems to be working wonders for the boys at TuneUp. I think it smells like the hand of an old barber.

Here's a shot of me with the wax pre-application:

And, today is shave day, so check out the goods without any of the infiltrating beard growth:

And finally, here is an incredible commercial by a man with an incredible mustache. Oldie but a goodie.

Day 13 - All we are saying, is give Mustache a chance.

Good People-

First off, big thanks to Pesco for his very generous donation. Thanks Pesco!

Because of your generous donations, we have raised $1,567 and have reached 673 children. Incredible.
You have allowed me to keep my honor (if only by a lip hair) as I am in first place and we are on the path to matching last years $ raised.

Also, as a company, TuneUp is in 2nd place overall only trailing the behemoth corporate giant, Bank of America. God, I would love to beat those guys .

OK, so here's the (second) soap box speech. I'll keep it short. As much fun as this is for us to grow our furry little friends and as annoying it may be for you at this point to get all of these updates, the real deal here is that these kids really really need your help.

I am a firm believer that education is the ONLY way out for these childen that are not given the opportunities that most of us were. How are they supposed to do this when they don't have books or science lab materials or any of the other humble requests these teachers are making?

I know times are tough right now. If you don't have a lot to give, give a little. Every bit helps.

Namastache,

G

Day 11. "I love it when you call me Big Mustache"

Good People,

Here's a shot of me applying the daily "growth tonic". Thank goodness there are none of those pesky committees or regulations on such performance enhancement solutions.

Thank you again for all of your generosity! We have currently reached over 300 students in need. We're in first place. Let's keep it up.

Namastache,

G

Oh, and here's a mustache to aspire to. The one, the only, Koko B Ware! Wouldn't want a pile driver from that guy. No sir.

Days 1-10 Blustache Retrofit AKA "Forever Mustache, I wanna be Forever Mustache"

Hey All-

Due to many of your requests, I have created a custom Mustache Blog (Blustache 3, The Notorious M.U.S.T.A.C.H.E) to keep you updated on my mustache growth and to provide all sorts of other engaging and educational information about the culture of Mustache.

So, for those of you that don't know, I am part of an organization called Mustaches for Kids that raises money for underprivileged youth through the sponsorship of mustache growth. This year we have partnered with a group called Donors Choose which allows you to choose exactly which project and school you want to donate to. I am proud to say that thanks entirely to you, I have raised more money than anyone else for the last two years and am looking forward to a three-peat. As such, I need your help.

HUGE THANKS to Ima, Henry, Joshua, Kellie, Elissa, Elizabeth, Teresa, Mike B, LL, Audra, Miguel, Molly, Jane, Gayle, Drew D, RK, Thai Ann, Seiku, Alex, Tim, Ted, Johanna, Ariel, Kara and Erik!

I (kind of) apologize to those of you that have already seen these photos and posts on Facebook and through emails. Persistence is key here.

Namastache,

G
